Worthwhile viewing

"Back Issues: The Hustler Magazine Story" is an interesting documentary mostly about publisher Larry Flynt and his beginnings in Ohio to his legal troubles over the years and more. Hustler was the explicit magazine where Playboy was tame in comparison. Nothing explicit was shown in this film. Just about anyone who was a who's-who was interviewed about their time inside that empire. It discussed the time when President Jimmy Carter's sister led Flynt to Christianity, and he says it was real, but a decade later he was buddies with Madalyn O'Hair and became an atheist. Even the man who shot and paralyzed Flynt was interviewed. Maybe a couple of you would be interested in checking this out, and for you, I do recommend it. But one thing is very clear - that magazine, if you read it or not, has challenged people's perspective on politics, humor, art, and yes, sex. ** 1/2 out of 4 stars.

For such a salacious topic, the documentary was exceedingly boring.

Larry Flynt is one of our Great American A****oles, but in spite of that you can't help but admire the guy after watching this flick.
He should run for President again. He'd have my vote!
