Which Controllers Are Compatible With Mario Kart 8?

Hi, I currently own a Wii and am looking to upgrade to a Wii U in order to play Mario Kart 8. However, I’m a bit confused as to which controllers that were compatible with the Wii version of Mario Kart, are also compatible with Mario Kart 8? I currently own a Gold Wii controller (From Goldeneye), a standard GameCube controller, two Wii remotes and two Wii wheels. If somebody could tell me which if any of these are compatible with Mario Kart 8 that would be great thanks.

The game pad, wii u pro controller, wii remote(with or without wii wheel), classic controller, and wii remote and nunchuck are all compatible in this next game! So you have LOTS of options with this game! Hope you upgrade because the wii u is awesome! Have fun with mario kart 8, I know I will!
