Thoughts after JL on BvS?
the last year in a half, before seeing JL...BvS was almost unwatchable for me....it failed at every level...I literally could not watch it and take away good from....
I saw JL this weekend, I did not like it much...afterwards I came home and watched BvS a day later and I must say, It was the best viewing a had of the film, I dont want to say I enjoyed because I didn't....but
After Watching JL, I came home and watched BvS....My opinion has changed on BvS....I feel different now, after watching JL and It being just a complete miss mash of tones, having no focus,vision or direction....I now have a new found respect for BvS....BvS is at least Snyders vision/baby....
Now the movie is still bad, but Ive now changed my opinion on why its bad....IMO The movie failed and was awful due its story and Villain...I actually think Snyders take on the universe and the conflict between Bats and Sups was pretty good and could have worked had The Story, Plot and Villain in the movie not being so awful....
Lex Luthors motivations and actions he takes in the film simply makes zero sense and dont work on any level, The conspiracy and all the behind the scenes things he does to get Bats and Supes to fight KILL this movie...Lex should have been a minor character and The fight between Bats and Sups should have 100% been focused on Batmans fear of Superman....
Jesse being cast as Lex and HIs Performance as LEX also badly KILLS the movie....
IMO had Snyders exact takes on the universe and characters stayed the same, Had BvS been written much better With A completely different story that focused very little on Lex and instead focused on Bats fear of Sups...BvS and Snyder take on the Universe would/could have worked.
there still plenty of other Problems, Doomsday was awful, Batman brutally killed people, Superman was Joyless...these are all massive problems but IMO BvS and Snyder vision could have worked or at least that is my opinion after seeing JL...JL is just so with heart and Vision that you almost cant help but feel different about BvS after watching it, again Its still a bad movie, but BvS is at least A TRUE movie with A concrete vision
By far the thing that stuck out most to me when watching BvS this weekend...was The Score....BvS has such A Drastically Different and GREAT score that makes The film feel different and definitely make The important scene actually feel important
