Worse than the 1st one. Here's why:
Most people think that THE PURGE PART 2: ANARCHY is better than THE PURGE. Not to me. Since this one takes place all over the city instead of just one house, it had more potential, but in the end, there's still not a proper exploration of what the idea of The Purge really means. Ever since I read the summary of the 1st movie, I decided to give writer/director James DeMonaco the benefit of the doubt and wonder if something like this could happen in real life. That's not the issue; the issue is that, according to him, most people deep down do want to commit crimes but don't do it just because it's illegal. Yes, there are people like that, but the majority? No! We don't do it because we know it's wrong! Due to the 1st installment's bad script, I was barely worried about what could happen to the characters (http://vits-ingthemovies.blogspot.com/2015/02/comments-round-up-january-2015.html). This time, I didn't care at all.
