What if this was the first movie?

I sometimes wonder if people would more open to liking this movie if it was the first

Regardless I would still like anarchy better. Better plot, more action, more wide open.

This is the first movie.that other piece of *beep* just happenes to have similar name. it's just a coincidence.strange, right?

I agree the general consensus would be higher, but probably not by much. That first one isn't that good and had me hoping everyone would die. I didn't care about any of them in any way, and all of them at some point or another do something so stupid that it makes you wonder if they deserve it.

This one is slightly better, but still isn't a great movie honestly. It's still hindered by a low budget and mediocre writing. I'm still waiting for one to show me the meanest of the meanest that humanity has to offer. The stuff that would be happening on a night like this is so hardcore and depraved that these are kids movies in comparison.

I'll catch the third one at some point at home, no way I'm gonna pay to see it in theaters though. After two let downs there's just no rush to see if the third can disgust me, because I doubt it can...

Well you're in luck because the third film definitely ups the ante with the violence!

I like to pretend it is.

This movie is certainly better than the first (I haven't seen the third yet to speak on that) but I'm having a hard time rating it higher than I did the first (6/10). The premise in the movie (and therefore all Purge films) is just so preposterous that despite being fairly enjoyable, I just can't give it more than a 6/10.

I think perhaps a better idea would be for me to downgrade the first movie to a 5/10 because this movie certainly doesn't deserve a 7 in my book and the first one was indeed worse than this one.

As I saw someone say on another thread, this movie "has you asking way more questions than it [reasonably] has answers for".

The movie's not terrible and it's a good "survive the night" flick but it's still 6/10, tops.
