Did anyone miss ian

While Ian story pretty much concluded in the third film but I think a cameo appearance would have been nice.

reply

No, because David Cross deserves better than being in an Alvin and the Chipmunks film. I do feel bad for his Arrested Development co-star Tony Hale who sadly is in this though.

Yeah, we did miss Ian. A cameo would have been cool.

So: a realistic, down to earth show..which is completely off the wall swarming with magic robots?!

This movie felt like something was missing and it's definitely Ian. Tony Hale's ("Agent Suggs") performance was way too over-the-top. He's usually funny to me but in this film he was overkill. I get that this is largely aimed at kids, but jeez, he could've brought it down a few notches. David Cross ("Ian") was funny without overacting. Now if someone like Jim Carrey was playing Agent Suggs it would've worked because an actor like him is known for over-the-top, cartoony performances.
