Someone just died at this

That's what happens when you throw 400000 people in the desert and give them a ****load of drugs. I hate people who say this is about spirituality or bringing the world together - it's about turning your brain off, doing a ton of drugs and acting like a *beep* moron.

He died from a pre-existing medical condition, not a drug overdose. Get your facts straight before you act like an ignorant fool.

Two have died, from undetermined causes, likely dehydration and exhaustion, two symptoms of ecstasy abuse.

Rather than get into a heated argument online with a handle, I would just like to say this;

I have gone to EDC the last two years and it has truly changed my outlook on the world. There are nearly 350,000 attendees every year, and VERY seldom is there a casualty. It is ignorant to assume that we all consume copious drugs and alcohol just to enjoy ourselves at these events. Truth is, this collective of people is more like a family than MOST families! We look out for each other, we learn from each other and we grow with each other. Drugs and alcohol are a part of any genre of music or festival. Its sad that one particular group is singled out as the "problem" when every event has its problems with substance abuse. Just recently there was a headline regarding a Keith Urban show where a girl was raped and over 50 people were hospitalized due to drugs and alcohol. So where is the backlash on those country fans?

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but I hope that people start looking at the whole rather than the few. As a community we are driving towards being safer and educating those who may not know the risks involved with drugs and partying too hard.

This film is a glimpse into what hundreds of thousands call home. But without being there you can never truly understand just what it means to be Under The Electric Sky.

Disagree 100%. I didn't give a crap about anyone else when I was there and I doubt they cared about me. Wouldn't call it a family.

It's a festival pretty much like any other festival. Usually these events bring some sort of unity between the guests. Aside from the impressive stages, lights and crowds I didn't see anything special about it.
They made it out to look like some misfit loner gathering and yet follow some of the most generic people ever.
It's a festival for people who likes edm and to dance and that's it. Take out the ecstasy and what's so special about it?

reply

'Cause it's fun, man.

If you had a clue what this event was about you wouldn't be so quick to judge, I've been before and am currently going this weekend. I've never met nicer and more friendly people in my life, a lot of people do drugs sure but it doesn't make them a bad person.Everyone loves and respects each other here, where else could you stick 400,000 people somewhere this hot and not have fights breaking out etc. There are none here at all, can't stand people who think raves are all bad and no good.

Putting these on in the middle of the summer in Vegas does seem to be a bit risky. I was in Vegas in 2014, and saw a bunch of cars heading into town with "EDC" on their cars. I talked to a bunch of people in the hotel lobby, and found out what it was all about.

Even after 10 p.m., you could smell the asphalt almost cooking in town. I don't know what it was like out at the race track where they have their festival. But, the air was hot and still late into the night in town.
