did anybody else.....think it was total and utter $h!tb ...?

Yes I absolutely agree.

I do like the cast, the concept was pretty cool but I just cannot care for the execution.

Yea. I did but then i realized there would be no movie if that happened. lol

I read this in a chola accent.

Personally, I did not. However, if she tried to leave earlier, it would have shut up 80% of the complaints people have about this film. I did find the scene where she ran out to her car odd, because she ran back to answer the phone again, but I think at that point she still thought the caller was really in trouble.

There are definitely clever ways some movies have characters try to leave but unable to. In one film I remember the team set up in the main lobby to go explore an abandoned insane asylum. At the first sign of craziness, they did what normal people would do - they opened the door to leave... only to find an endless hallway. That was impressive.

I think it was better the way they did it, because her integrity and work ethic (her brave attempts to overcome the fear) were a very important part of the story.
Paymon wasn't just trying to kill her, he was trying to strip her of her integrity, her humanness, so if they showed her from early on having no issues with running away from a scare (albeit the most practical choice for anybody), the "prize" wouldn't be worth much.

Grave Encounters :)

Thanks - that's the movie I was thinking of. The title doesn't sound impressive, especially since it's nothing to do with a graveyard. :)
