How can you see that much crazy stuff and not think to GTFO.

Not like this movie is about her with a mental disease, it's supernatural and she should've just gotten the fug out of there from the get go.

Yeah, in 3 seconds a group of 2-3 jokester cops can stack a bunch of office chairs so easily like the poltergeist movie.

I still got like 38 mins left but come the fugg on lady get your shib together.

reply

Yeah she shoulda called for backup the moment she put the hobo in lockup.
Rookies. She deserves everything she gets for being a dumbass.

reply

She was trying to prove herself. If she would have called them, she would have been looked at as weak.

reply

So police officers are trained to believe that calling for backup is being weak?

Police call for backup all the time. For the simplest things. I've encountered police officers who call for backup because they don't know how to write up a speeding ticket properly. And some of these are veteran cops.

reply

Just a guess here... But I'm thinking if she called for back up immediately there wouldn't have been a film!

reply

not only that, but I doubt they would've believed her. They would've just thought she was just some crazy woman, who jumps @ seeing roaches or spiders.

plus, she had already told one of her colleagues over the phone that someone had called with an emergency & he dismissed her concern by basically saying that it was impossible someone could be calling her because the number had already been re-routed.

Finally, when he does take her seriously, then she's flabbergasted at what he tells her & that's when she FINALLY decides to leave, which @ that point, it was too late for her to leave because the ghosts decided to lock her in.

reply

I was thinking the exact same thing. When she called her superior officer and he threatened her job, I would've said eff this and gave my resignation that day. I don't fugs with ghosts and stuff.

reply

The scene where she gets trapped in lockup with the ghost, about 20 minutes in, is when I would've gotten the hell out of dodge.

reply

Wow -
The OP and most responses say the officer should GTFO or call for backup.

I gotta lean towards the premise of the movie being that she's a real police officer. What happened to her that she would leave her post or call for backup?

You mentioned her getting trapped in the cell.

She didn't get trapped, she realized she hallucinated that.

She's not supposed to be a damsel in distress, she's supposed to be a rookie cop.
Don't nobody need to hold her hand.

reply

I think that's a stereotypical view of police. They are some of the most cowardly people on Earth. They call back-up for the most pointless things. Not saying she would be a coward if she ran up out of there, but I've seen 5 police cars stack up on me when I got pulled over for speeding.

Still, I would've GTFO there pretty quick. I think I would've been watching the building from my car too. Either that or gave my superior my badge. Eff dealing with ghosts and crap. It's not worth it.

reply

Lol. If you are in the States, can you think of a reason why the cops might want backup for a traffic stop? Starts with a "g" if it helps.

reply

Do you really believe that nonsense you just said? Nobody is going to stay in that building after that much insanity.

reply

She's a cop, not some kid home alone in a big scary house.

reply

I think when you are an armed officer and you realize that you are hallucinating pretty big times - and mind you, you have a civilian locked up with you - that's a pretty darn good reason to report that you are not suitable to continue the shift.

reply

wteu hit it, I got nothing further. :)

She called for backup on her radio, but no one answered. She called the other station and got a recording, and was told if she didn't stay she'd lose her job. She did go out to the car, but the phone rang, and she was seriously concerned for the girl.
