Glenn VS ATF

ive seen that the Glenn guy has a silencer on his rifle, aren't they illegal even in Alaska, that's a fed law banning silencers not state. What happens if ATF gets wind of this ?

I would hope that ATF has more important things to do than go after a reality show person with a silencer on their hunting rifle. Alaska game wardens would probably have more of an interest.

Suppressors are not banned federally or in Alaska, they are only regulated. With a full background check, registration, a $200 tax stamp and several others steps in the process, 8-12 months later you can have a brand new suppressor to use however you see fit.

Although a small number of states do ban ownership of them, the majority do not. They are actually a really useful tool for hunting and can also protect your hearing

SixRavenX is spot on!

Wow I always thought silencers are a federal ban like fully auto weapons too or a sawed off shotgun

reply

Neither illegal. NFA- National Firearms Act. Full Auto has the same $200 tax stamp, and the sawed off is an AOW- any other weapon, with a $5 tax stamp.
