Finally figured Sue out

Her deadpan John Wayne'esque way of talking that is...

"Out here you're on the menu, pilgrim"
"To that bear, you're nothin' but a food group, pilgrim"
"I don't cook well done, i only have to kill it once, pilgrim"
"Kavik is my dream, pilgrim"

reply

That is a great observation! Hahaha

I'm up to S01E06. Like it to so far.

The first time I heard Sue's voice I thought Grace Slick was doing a voice over. The more I see of Sue the more I'm feelin' she and Grace are somehow related. Two feisty ladies.

Can't imagine what it is like waking up to a bear coming through an exterior wall.

I have yet to learn how she pays for all the fuel required to keep the outpost going. I am guessing she maintains the outpost for a .gov agency, providing arctic data....and income from her camp.

I always feel that everything she says is directed towards the film crew to someway intimidate them so they never come back and disturb her sleep. But of course they keep coming back and she has to keep on finding things to do and say like "out here there are no rules, except the ones I make and the ones the bears break" -I made that last line up

"the day I tried to live, I learned that I was alive"

reply

Ha! If you hadn't have said you made it up, I'd swear Sue parrots that line like all her others.
That was good... lol

Doesn't she host tourists there in the warmer months? Which is why there are so many shelters there, and how she's able to pay her expenses?

I'm pretty sure they mentioned it in one episode.

BTW:

Like the majority here, I can't stand her.

I guess I'm among the few who get a real kick outta Sue.

Check out her website for Kavik. $350.00 a night. She takes in hunters, bird watchers, wildlife photgs, hikers, etc. I bet that camp is full during summer. That's why you don't see anyone there. They film winters. The people are there in summer.

I think she's a pretty great, tough old broad. I like her. Agnes Hailstone and Sue make the show.

Just watched the first few episodes and I like her. She complains alot but it's rather entertaining.
