Was Sue's crash real or 'reality TV'?

Do you thing it was legit, or a good stunt to end the season?
Sue lost control of her machine on the ice. Wouldn't someone with Sue's experience know how to handle ice?
When Agnes crashed it was no big deal.

I think it was real. She was in obvious pain before going to the hospital. She's not that much of an actress.

I see what you're saying, but I'm wondering if they went so far as to hire a stunt double. IDK, just a thought to wonder about.
I welcome people's thoughts or knowledge. :-)

Seriously? So the dr visits and the wheelchair and Sue crying in pain all alone are faked? I believe this show tries to be authentic as possible and the suggestion that her accident was somehow faked is really silly.

So they just conveniently happened to have a camera placed in the perfect spot to capture the entire crash?

It might have happened in the past or something, but it definitely looked staged or reenacted on the show to me

Anybody who believes everything on TV 'reality' is foolish. There are other posts on here about shooting Canada geese in the water and they swear half the geese in the water were wooden or not real.
Reality TV is scripted and set up. The people are real (ie: they do live in Alaska) but there is a director that 'leads' the subjects with questions and suggestions. And situations are recreated, as in Sue's accident, because the camera misses things. if you read carefully at the beginning of a lot of reality shows it says 'incidents are re-created'.
I mean, you can't even believe your local news all the time. You know how many times the news interviewed me as 'man on the street witness' and if I say I saw everything and give a good description, they Throw me some money.
Don't believe everything you see on TV. That would make YOU foolish.

There is the possibility that the snowmobile incident was re-enacted for the show.

I'm not saying the event didn't happen the way its portrayed on the show, but what if Sue's wipeout wasn't recorded by any camera?

The producers might have decided that such a significant event had to be included in the show to advance the storyline, which might have lead to the snowmobile crash being restaged for television using a stand-in. The person that came flying off the machine looked to be a little taller and leaner than Sue (not to mention more athletic), but that's all speculation on my part. A frame-by-frame breakdown of the event might reveal more details.

It was real, she was on Fox and Friends a couple of months ago and showed a huge scar on her shoulder.

In the end, if it was in fact re-enacted, does it really matter? Sue was injured in a fall, that much is certain.

I'm willing to suspend my disbelief for an hour because I enjoy watching the show. Whether Sue fell on camera or the scene was filmed later with a double is not important to me in the least.

Some people really seem to enjoy picking these Alaska shows apart. If that's your idea of a good time, go ahead on.

Big Sue news last night was that she quit smoking. I think the surgery really scared her. She was gone from camp for four months.

Sue has showed the scars & recently she has a new snowmobile & is still scared of it & goes very slow, is still working up & trying to get her bearings etc. She's admitted it scars her & talked about the conditions on the ice that made it happen. Sue wouldn't act so careful about it to be fake - she likes to show her skills.

And she had to have a special high-powered rifle made when she came back bc her shoulder couldn't take the kick-back at first. They may of had yo reenact some things but it was real. She even went out & busted the crashed snowmobile up after she was back & better when she could of had it fixed or kept for parts etc.
