Total BS

I'm right handed but all my life I have shot left handed...Guess what? All my guns are for right handed shooters! The only problem I have is shooting semi automatics where the shells are discharged across my body, no big deal.

reply

Not BS. If you're used to shooting right-handed all your life, it'll take time and a lot of adjustment to switch hands.

Plus, Sue likes to think she's so tough and capable -- she's not.

I'm not talking about switching shooting sides I'm questioning the face that she spends the money to fly to Fairbanks and purchase a left handed gins...very,very expensive. Clearly the lever action and pistols only require switching hands, but why a left handed bolt rifle 30/30 and a stocked pistol which she only used to fire a warning shot? She should have bought firecrackers.

reply

She can't shoot a rifle but she sure can swing a sledgehammer...Any why smash a running snow machine???

reply

That was my thought too. She had no problem swinging that hammer with her right arm at all, talk about faking it.

Not to mention she just bought that snow machine a few weeks before her accident, so it had to be almost brand new. She's an idiot, it's not the machines fault that she can't drive

reply

She's been doing fine for years.
Has a temper like anyone else.
You guys are jealous.

reply

Why would anyone be jealous? She's not doing anything that many people couldn't do if not better.

reply

Jealous of what?? She has nothing that I want, crave, or desire. I couldn't be any less jealous if I tried.

It was just stupid that she spent all season crying about her shoulder, yet suddenly she's able and willing to just destroy a brand new snow machine because she didn't know how to drive it

reply

I think we were all surprised that she allowed herself to be filmed doing that.
Her tender shoulder and stitches didn't seem to bother her as she destroyed a snow machine with a 16 lb sledge hammer. Which, by the way, contradicts all the phony philosophy she constantly spews. Self-reliance and responsibility. The snow machine didn't cause her crash. She screwed up.
She constantly speaks about how tight her finances are, especially since the accident. I am pretty sure that replacing a working snow machine above the Arctic Circle is the equivalent of buying a car in the lower 48.
So she destroys it?

I know with every TV show there are things we'll never truly know. I've been watching this show for a few weeks and out of all the characters, Sue, seems to be the most bizarre/mysterious. I know absolutely squat about living in those types of conditions, but I know if you run any business, especially like the one she is doing, you must have insurance, period. You have to have an income, and from that you have expenses and then profit. All evidence says that Sue is clearly profiting from what she does. What I find baffling is the amount of waste she generates whilst constantly going off about how much everything costs (compared to some of the other characters on the show, she's living like a king). She's clearly making a huge profit, yet we are constantly lead to believe things are much harder than they really are. The other odd thing is how she makes out she's so far away from everything/one but in reality she's less than 5 hours away from Dead Horse by snow machine (of which she has two, and a third ATV), and in the worst case scenario, shes two days away by a medical team (courtesy of her 'insurance'?), plus she has a sat phone, internet and a radio. I think the show is making her look eccentric.

reply

I don't think Sue needs help to appear eccentric.

I just don't understand all the Sue hate. Every episode I've seen she's working, checking out the camp, looking out for predators, trying to hunt and fish. I've yet to see her sitting on her butt, smoking. A woman in her 50s, alone, trudging around in all that crazy snow.

I get that she can sound pedantic. I know she's had to call for help, like when she was injured. But so much hate, why? I can only think of one reason, the obvious one.

When throwing out all the bad meat with stuff after she had to open Kavik back up she talked about how much loss on this and that. With it being a business besides the insurance it would be a big write off on loss on her taxes as well. But we don't know what her financial situation and how it all works out. She does like to buy certain toys and gear but her generator is old and her bobcat is really old and broke down recently when she had her winter fuel supply to move. I question that if she had a lot of money why not get at least a newer used one. Also seeing her setup with the wiring around camp and when she had to do repairs I thought surely there was a much better/efficient way of having that stuff run through camp. Even having to have resources flown in if she can get freezers and large items - which likely insurance replaced - there's other things that can be flown in. Even though it's expensive she can also trade on fuel and lodging but that's never brought up. I've only seen one episode where she was feeding someone at camp, haven't seen older season, just last two. Do they not film with her clients and the camp??? (from the variety of stuff offered that I read about on her website).
