Glen's house - whats the deal?

They make it look like he lives in a tiny cabin totally isolated and then I see him celebrating around a campfire eating porcupine (yuk) he just caught earlier that day from waking up in his tiny cabin and there appears a 1 second shot of this big 2 story modern house barely visible but definitely there, not that far away with the moon reflecting off the full length 2nd story window. Is he in the woods or not?

I did read on a different site that he has two kids. I'm not sure if he's married but there's pictures of him with them & a woman at Christmas but I believe that was in Fairbanks or somewhere close by plane. I got them Impression he does have a home in a town/city but loves living out at Chandalar. He definitely is the real thing as far as his knowledge & skills & dies spend @ least some significant time out there.

Google earth shows a runway, but otherwise remote.

He recently mentioned spending some of each year with his family in Anchorage.

He IS in the woods, and I would say he's the only one in the show, that's actually living the real pioneer wildlife. He doesn't have tons of machinery or whatnot to make his life easier, like all the other do, and as far as I've seen, he IS absolutely alone out there.

He's the one I respect the most on this show. He do not use snowmobiles, he's walking/trekking allover the area and maybe he have family and maybe even a home down in Anchorage, but obviously he's not living with his kids mother. He's living from day to day from what's he's able to catch in the rivers or hunting down inland. I like him.
