No rooting for the love interest....

I liked the aspect of this film and what it came across as. A busy snob of the money city coming and finding a place like this, only to realize that she had a change of heart about life. I enjoyed that.
Although I feel so many movies tend to have a role of a love interest, I find this interest to not be so interesting.

I wasn't not rooting for the "bad" boyfriend in any way. I was just shocked how I wasn't even rooting for the "good" guy either.
To me they didn't lay down enough ground work to make me want to see her with Lucas.
I would have much preferred her to just want to stay in Normal because she felt it was the right and only thing she should do. Not because of Lucus.
They rushed the romance and I just didn't see them together at all. That alone ruined the ending for me.

I agree somewhat. As far as Christian movies, this one was pretty well done. The only thing I think it could have done a little better was to develop Lisa's relationship to the town a bit more- have longer and more scenes for her community service visits. That way, her choice would have been more developed about it being about serving others and falling in love with the people and the town and lifestyle, and not so much just because of the romance aspect. The movie somewhat developed it with her saving the little girl, and the Doc, and cop really appreciating her, but if it had shown more interactions with other folks/patients, it could have been more real and fully developed, in my opinion. I really enjoyed it though nonetheless.
