Love it...

Loved the movie, loved the story behind the movie and that it was made in the very pretty small town on the Ouachita River, Columbia, LA.

I too enjoyed watching it. Having seen "Doc Hollywood" I knew the story before the movie began, but it made me feel good. It is pretty hard to ask more of a movie than that.

I love the spiritual aspect of it.

I feel manipulated after watching this movie. If we have to rate movies for sex, violence, language, there should also be a rating for intolerance of other's beliefs. The title, Finding Normal, would then have us believe that being Christian is Normal, and all others . . . Abby Normal?? Perhaps this has something to do with why the band wasn't credited, as they took the Lord's name in vain in another song I found.

Please don't misunderstand me to say that I don't believe in many of the basic values that were portrayed in the movie. I just feel that I should have been warned about the overt bashing of people who don't have the LABEL of being Christian. The values portrayed are not exclusive to being Christian, and therefore, I feel like Jesus Himself would not approve of the intolerance shown toward others in this movie. The movie should be labeled Born Again Christian in every description.

Really? I saw it being the opposite. The doctor was condescending and close minded to start with. If anything, the townspeople seemed a little amused by her in the beginning, not judgemental.

Even more so, I thought the they were very welcoming and just wanted to show the doctor a sense of community. I'm not sure I even heard the word "Christian" or an implication that they were pressuring her. Plus just going to church doesn't automatically make you a Christian anyway.

I'm surprised at how much the story was more about being part of a town that believes in those values vs. "finding religion". Believe me, I dislike religion/Christianity being shoved down one's throat and I thought it was handled well. I think the only time I got an inkling was her speech when she was in the wedding dress, but I saw that more of a character's natural journey than preaching to us.

Of course, I completely respect where you're coming from! It's just funny how we all can see something different in a movie 

I liked it as well. It's so nice not to be cursed at in a movie or have to watch graphic unnecessary sex and violence scenes in a movie. Just a good message movie done with style.
