The ending actually makes me angry!

I went into this knowing that it was a low-budget horror movie, but I didn't hold that against it. I just sat back to enjoy it for what it was.

Throughout the movie, I was entertained and I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't just end with the ship flying away. Each time I was sure it would end with a cliffhanger, like when she looks out of the pipe into the interior of the ship, it kept going.

I was prepared to give this film a pretty good review. Then the idiotic ending happened! As soon as I saw the soldiers, I knew the two stars were going to end up dead. That's not a twist, that's what's expected of all horror movies today. If the director wanted to shock the audience, he should have let them live.

I would have recommended this movie to other fans of low-budget alien movies, but after seeing that stupid ending, I don't recommend anyone waste their time. What's the point of watching a movie and rooting for characters who are all just going to die anyway?

I really hope that the director reads this one day; Your stupid ending ruined any enjoyment I had previously gotten from this movie. If I had paid money to see this film, I would demand a refund! Take your movie and shove it up your a$$.

Agreed! Instead of being so abrupt a little foreshadowing would have been kinder to those who had enjoyed the proceedings up to that point.

reply

I also agree. The downbeat ending ruined the movie.

The ending was a great way to cover up alien existence and a nice prequel to the X-Files series.

reply

Exactly! Any other ending would have ruined the plot.

How would they be able to cover up the alien conspiracy if there is footage and survivors?

Makes me wonder if the government could ever find all the footage and witnesses. The policeman had already seen footage of the telephone booth and the family abduction that the government didn't know about. There's also Seth's cellphone footage somewhere.

Then there's the female abductee who blabbed everything to the policeman without the government knowing. Don't see how the government could contain the secret without killing everyone in town.

Is that who that guy was supposed to be? I didn't get the reveal.

It is hard not to sound condescending when you are explaining things to an idiot!

reply

Possibly, or maybe just their version of him.

Since we know they can put images in people's minds I expected them to not really be on Earth still up in space.

Would the military shoot civilians that knew about a cover up?
Yes, it's been done! believe me!

It's not that I question whether the military would do that, I question why they had to blunder into a military camp and get shot. It would have been perfectly acceptable for them to have gone in a different direction, found a road, flagged down a passing car and gone back to their lives, while the military investigated the rest of what went down.

By killing the last two survivors, it makes the entire movie pointless. Why did I waste my time caring if they lived or died when they were all doomed?

yeah i agree with you there. it made me angry too. it was a horrible pointless ending to movie. it was like a middle finger to those of us who thought kyle and april was going to put it all behind them and get married instead of....

(Spoiler alert)

....stumbling to a place in the middle of nowhere and getting murdered by the military who just happened to be investigating in the same area. Stupid ending by stupid writers. It's like they wanted as much blood as possible in this movie and didnt care how it ended. Glad i never payed to watch this.

i agree with you
