Please name other films that borrow the ending of "Night of the Living Dead", i.e., that kill off the hero(s) after he/she/they have come through an ordeal alive?

Seems as hackneyed an idea as ET-type aliens...

Pretty much every horror movie made in the last 30 years. It's now standard horror movie procedure to have the monster/spirit/whatever come back at the end and finish off the survivors. It used to be a twist, but now it's a twist ending when the heroes actually survive.

Cube 2 rings pretty strong in my mind for that sort of senseless mood-whiplash sort of ending.

Cabin Fever, Chernobyl Diaries, and Area 407 are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head, but I know there are waaayyy way more. It happens so much I kind of expect it with these movies now lol.

When I saw the half alien/human on the ship I thought the twist was going to be they lived but then then 9 months later she has an alien baby.

I read a review saying the twist was worthy of the horrible rest of the movie but it just was not like "eh"

The first Carnosaur movie has the EXACT SAME ending as this movie. The government is shady and shoots both the male and female lead characters at the very end of the film. A couple of soldiars then burn their bodies and the whole incident is covered up. Sound familiar??? despite that I did still like this movie and would heartily recommend it!!
