Uniform Goof?

I will admit I am not from the USA, I will admit that I have had no military service (apart from 22 years of teaching youth cadets).

I will admit that this story is a bit lame, but then, atomic power was turned into a weapon, would the military do the same with weather control?

I do have a few questions of any that have served in today's US military, has the US Army Regulation on the wearing of the Stars and Stripes on ACU changed in the last 4 years since I last researched it, having two American supply teachers in my unit? Subdued flag patches worn as though walking backwards on US soil? Does that happen?

OK as a bit of a military fan, I noticed this, but I have to admit I felt it a bit annoying. However, the scientists seem to wear the right flag on their flight suits.

Maybe that's because the scientist pay attention to detail.

Given the science in this film the uniform is the last place I looked for accuracy.
