lacks someone with an eye for details

I agree that this movie could have been much better by someone paying attention to some important visual aspects--after all, it is a visual medium. There are too many closeups of unattractive facial features and overacting, particularly the lead actress working every wrinkle and muscle in her face and her husband's plain, too-old-for-her face. She also has a too refined, sophisticated face that doesn't fit the role of someone who says "runnin'" and "talkin'", and decorates her house in that dowdy way.
Her sister's first appearance with her upswept hairdo was disastrous--extremely unattractive--made me want to look away! Good Grief! Thank goodness she had her hair down for the rest of the movie.
Then we had to suffer through closeups of Brianna's endless crying on the witness stand.

Nevertheless, the plot was interesting, and kept me watching.

the only thing I had a problem with is the fact that gail ogrady looked so young in this. not teenager but NO WHERE NEAR having an adult daughter old enough to have her daughter married and with two kids!

I agree about her looking too young, and the guy they cast as her hubby looked too old for her.

I usually like LT movies, but I think this one was pretty awful.

Acting wasn't very good, and the 'Charlie's Angels' were acting way too 'peppy' and cheerful in their 'investigations', especially so soon after the death (inconsistent tone here).

Some of the 'gotcha' details they find along the way seem pretty weak, although the director tries to make us think they are good 'A-Ha!s', music and all.

Editing of scenes was bad.

The candle-lighting scene -- the granddaughter (another bad actress) first was SO mad at grandma, and then last sentence did a total 180. Not believable!

The interview where Brianna is shakily drinking the water...Wade passes a note, after which they offer immunity to her for her testimony and then in the very next scene, he is all about 'she shouldn't testify...she might screw things up' (or words to that effect) and Mom practically leaves it up to him to decide (what??) and then he begrudgingly agrees. Scenes just did not match up.

When I compare this to some other LT movies, like the Patty Duke ones as a grieving Mom, this one...not good.
