Wigs

It looked to me in season 2 that Ana got a new wig, Gloria and Barbara had the same wig and Patricia started wearing a wig. The hair was distracting to me.

I noticed the same thing from S1E1. Really bad fake hair on everyone!

Ana's new wig is much better. Patricia's isn't as distracting )thought not sure wh they couldn't have just colored her natural hair) and Barbara's is really awful.

Ana dowsn't appear to be wearing a wig?

Barbara's noticeably fake!

At the time the series is set, wigs were quite popular. As the fashionable heavily back combed and sprayed hair was difficult to maintain, especially for women with fine hair, wigs were an easy fix. The actresses appear to be wearing hair pieces, also known as "falls" which are attached to a comb and fits around the top of the head in line with the ears. The wearers own hair is exposed at the front. This gives a full long or medium length haired appearance. The give away is the head band.

The two most popular hair styles of the early 60's, which replaced the chignon of the late 50's, were the backcombed style worn by Barbara and the swept back hair with a fall ending in a flip that we seen Anna wearing in Season 3. Both styles required a lot of teasing and spraying to obtain the lift, and were agonizing to comb out next day, hence the popularity of hair pieces.
