It's been a long time since I've seen someone this selfish and self absorbed.
shareHuh??? Cannot fathom what in the world motivated your remark. I thought she was honest, courageous, authentic, hilarious, and a wonderful mother. She has surrounded her son with people who love him, and he is clearly happy and healthy. Where is the selfishness and self-absorption in this picture?

The selfishness is right in your own statement "She has surrounded her son...". She leans on her support system WAY too much. Even when they knew the camera was running they'd show signs of being exasperated with her neediness. I'm sure when they were off-camera and not around her they let loose on it a lot more.
She knowingly put herself in the position of being a single mother then played the "I'm a single mother" card repeatedly to guilt people into helping her.
BTW I come to this opinion/conclusion because I am a single mother (of twins!) who has had pretty much 0% support. I've been told by many people that they admire the fact that I handle my own business and don't go around expecting people to cut me (or my now teen boys) any slack just cuz I'm single.
Plus I've read Nina had a $500K grant to make this film; so all her whining about how hard things are for her is pretty damn hard to listen to.
I thought it was great that I had more patience. Turns out... I just don't give a sh!t
