Disturbingly low ratings?

Just started watching the show - and I admit the first episode was not so funny, but it really caught up as the second episode was really enjoyable. Don't get why this is rated so low? If you're really unimpressed by the first episode, please don't stop watching and just watch second episode too. That's what happened for me with Blackadder - I was totally put off by the first series, and missed the incredible 3rd and 4th series for the same for some time.

Love the performances, and the writing is pretty damn fine too. Great to hear that it's been renewed for a second season, but I'd have really liked more episodes in this series.

I've just finished watching the 3rd episode and I'm left wondering why this series was commissioned. Was it just because it was written by Jessica Hynes?

The first episode was unfunny, the 2nd was OK and the 3rd was "eh?". The double-entendres from Myrtle (Judy Parfitt) were the only bit I found even mildly amusing. Then again, I don't get why "Not Going Out" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0862614/) is funny and has made it to 6 series.

If there is to be a 2nd series, I do hope they get a co-writer on board.

The double entendre bit, I found incredibly annoying actually. So maybe it's just the difference in tastes, fair enough then.

It's not a laugh-out-loud sitcom, but it's extremely engaging and well written IMO.

Myrtle is too cliche, like Blanche on The Golden Girls.

I think the low ratings has meant its been cancelled.
