Mr. & Mrs. Darcy mysteries

Carrie Bebris has written a series of mysteries involving Elizabeth and Darcy which cross over with the other Jane Austen books. Among the titles are North by Northanger, Pride and Prescience, Sense and Sensibility, The Matters at Mansfield, The Intrigue at Highbury, The Deception at Lyme, and The Suspicion at Sanditon, which comes out next summer. They ring very true to me (and I can see Lizzie becoming good friends with Emma Knightley). They would also make good tv shows/movies.

I, too, enjoyed the Mr. & Mrs. Darcy Mysteries very much. More so because they brought characters together from different novels.

I, too, enjoy Carrie Bebris' Elizabeth and Darcy mysteries. As the OP mentioned, Carrie Bebris' books ring true. I like how her books don't insult or change Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice but have a respectful and fun what was involved in 'Elizabeth and Darcy living happily ever after'...

Agree 1000%. I stumbled upon Pride and Prescience several years ago and was so enthralled I read the entire series. The Mr & Mrs. Darcy mystery series led me to Death comes to Pemberley and I was just stunned at how it failed to capture such classic characters.

I have read all of the series as well, and was very impressed with how the author depicted the Darcy relationship as well as their individual personalities. I did not like the first two, as the paranormal aspect was silly and boring. But once she abandoned that with North by Northanger, the books steadily got better. I generally liked the way she folded in the characters both major and minor from the Austen novels.

There are several good sequels by several different author's that are better than DCTP that I would've loved to have seen made into series / movies

Would you please name a few? Thank you!

Personally, I detested the only Carrie Berberis book I read (the first one), so take my recommendation with a grain of salt.

My favorite sequel is Pemberley Shades, by a woman named Dorothy Bonavia-Hunt. It was published in the 1940s, and I only discovered it in the autumn of 1977. I just love it. The characters are instantly recognizable as Austen's, the plot is intriguing and there's no angst or drama all over the place.

Granted, there's no murder, but there is a sort of mystery going on, and I do think it would translate well to the small screen.

Anna Elliott have written a couple of good books about Georgiana Darcy and I loved Monica Fairview's series about the Other Mr Darcy and their cousins.

I'd love to see Shannon Hale's Austenland and Midnight in Austenland made. I know they've made the first one into a film, but, I'd love to see the sequel done or a mini - series of them both.

Sharon Lathan has done a series of books based more on the 2005 Pride and Prejudice movie that would made a good series if done right

Amanda Grange has done a series of books that would make a lovely series, but, they're based on the diaries of the male characters so they would be the same story told from the men (Darcy / Knightley / Wentworth etc) POV

Tracy Kiely's Murder Most Austen series may work. It would be something different and fun

But I would love to see Rebecca Ann Collins Pemberley Chronicles done. They follow the extended Bennett Darcy families (I think there's a couple about the Dashwood's aswell). They could be done as a longer running series (maybe a book a series) similar to Downton Abbey

And although it's not a series I would love seeing Jo Baker's Longbourn as a mini series / film

You can't get enough Austen
