A strange experience

Ok lets get the meat and 2 veg out of the way straight away. This film is bad, it's corny, it has some of the oddest dialogue you'll ever hear, it has a monster that is beyond ridiculous, think a really cheap halloween monkey costume and you're pretty much there and it has quite possibly the slowest and most un-agile movie monster you are ever likely to see, if it was any slower it would have been moving in reverse, it struggles to get through reeds and twigs and when it does corner a victim, it just stands there and grunts for 30 seconds until they've run away. The fantasy blockbuster-esque music, is also so out of place that it's actually distracting.

So taking all these things into account, i really should have hated this film, however, it did entertain me, it kept me wanting to see what happened next and on occasion it made me laugh.

It does have some breathtaking scenery and some pretty decent camera work to capture it and Vernon Wells's cameo is pretty cool. The acting is not going to win any Oscars but it is fairly well done for such a low budget production. I'd love to know how much Wells was paid considering he once starred in blockbuster movies as Commando, weird Science, Mad Max 2 and Inner Space.

So ignore the 10 star "amazing film of the year" reviews written by people who seem to have done almost nothing else on IMDB, barring write up a glowing review of this film.
9 and 10 stars it most definitely is not, this film is as cheesy as they come but it does have some entertainment value none the less and it's no where near as crap as it should have been.

It's not one I'll be watching again and again but it is one I'm glad I did watch and there are some much worse killer bigfoot films out there, believe me lol

"Hasta la vista, baby."
