So... (Spoilers)

Jan in the end, realizing there was no escape from the pool\forest, sacrificed Emilie to the spirit haunting it. At least that is the impression I got. Being foreign I do not fault it for it's ambiguous ending as that tends to be the trademark of all foreign films. if it were yet another American low budget horror film that left me guessing I'd be pissed!

Emilie was a bit of a bitch for slugging Jan and so before the end I half expected him to turn to her and say "I am not forgetting you punched me!" Did she deserve to be sacrificed? Wish I truly knew as it seemed she had to be drown in the pool (and who swims in or trusts anything from a stagnant pool? I am no camper but even I know they are breeding grounds for mosquitoes and bacteria). So did Jan convince her to return to camp, knock her out, tie her up as dad had done, and then toss her in the pool?? I assume so since he is suddenly seen overlooking a highway holding hands with the ghost girl from both his fathers and his visions\dreams. "Take me with you" it kept saying. So Jan did. By killing Emilie the spirit became whole. Or did it? Was Jan still having a delusion??

For ten minute epilogue!!

well don't forget the whole group was falling more and more under the witch's (her spirit) spell. so none of them were acting rationally. Emilie was definitely sacrificed at the end. when it shows Jan overlooking the highway and a young woman is beside him (we think it's Emilie) and it shows her face, it's not Emilie but a different (i don't think it was the same woman who the dad was seeing. i think they were the same witch but using different looking women to appeal to each male, but i could be wrong on that) young woman (wearing the clothes/jacket) Emilie was wearing. so the witch was "reborn" into Emilie's body.

also they had no choice but to return to the lake. the witch kept returning them all there no matter which direction they tried to escape in.

Yes the conclusion is she was indeed sacrificed; there seems to be no other one to arrive at. As to her, the new woman\girl, being the same for both dad and son I'd have to watch it again... though IMDB cast list would also tell us!

UPDATE: The cast does not include anyone paying "Strange girl\Ghost girl" but it does list a character named Jenny that was not part of the camping group. The actresses picture looks facially like the girl at the end and also, with hair done differently, the woman the father met in the woods. So Jenny may have been the ghost of a sacrificed girl (we saw that in one of Jan's visions or at least one such sacrifice) who obtained supernatural powers via her refusal to die, she was already a witch, or who knows.

Wondering if she could really cross over into the current real world or would Jan and her be stuck watching traffic forever (until he dropped from starvation)? Since she is dressed as Emilie that suggests corporeal presence and so yes. The "where will they go and who will they be?" of course is up to us. Maybe they'll be a version of Eli and Oskar at the end of "Let The Right One In"??
