Could've been a Nicholas Sparks movie WITHOUT the music

The music and the DJ stuff were utterly horrendous so I fast-forwarded all the dance sequences, and what was left of the film was a Nicholas Sparks-like drama surrounding a troubled loner who gets sent to a new town and falls in love with another troubled girl whose relatives have died. You throw Josh Duhamel in there and you have something like 'The Last Song' meets 'Safe Haven'. Some young, attractive actors, some drama, some music, some passion, a weak plot twist - and you have the recipe for a mildly enjoyable film. But, in the case of 'Bravetown', this totally failed due to the choice of dubstep music and recycled clichees ripped off from films like 'Step Up' (2006) and 'We Are Your Friends'(2015).

I watched the movie because of the music and the dancing, but I think the choreographies weren't strong enough. It's awkward since Brian Friedman is a popular dancer and choreographer but he fails to impress in this movie.

Regarding the plot, yes, it was like a Nicholas Sparks movie. The fact they are grown up actors dancing in high school was weird and make it look childish in some ways...

But it was entertaining somehow!
