She admitted she killed the dog. That's just downright cruel and evil. I could even see that killing the mom would be understandable if she was an abusive bitch. (If not then it's sad. Not to mention she was nine when she did it, that's a little scary) But you don't kill the dog. YOU NEVER KILL THE DOG!!!!
