Zootopia's location in relation of the real world

OK, I know Zootopia takes place in a completely alternate universe where no humans have ever existed. And this particular eponymous city within it is explicitly anthropomorphic mammals only (even then committing some mammals, most notably other primates in addition to humans but that's another story) has mammals from all different points in our real world.

I'm a-ok with that, btw; this is just a fan theory that Zootopia could be the fantasy counterpart equivalent to either New York City or Los Angeles or wherever; the directors were quoted as saying that those two real world cities inspired how different mammals from different parts of the world live in different "boroughs" of Zootopia, but come out and intermingle in the Main Square and even crossover into each other's districts. And some of the non-American mammals (i.e. the various African ones, Chief Bogo, Mayor Lionheart, Clawhauser and, of course, Gazelle) are the equivalent of immigrants if Zootopia is, in fact, in "California" or "New York" in this alternate universe? LOL.

Again, just a fun little fan theory. What do you guys think? :)
