Along with "Inside Out"...

This is, bar none, the GREATEST Disney film released in the past 4-5 years or so. Both of those films had not necessarily COMPLETELY original stories, but really managed to put creative (relatively) new touches on such stories/ideas of personified emotions and worlds of anthro-animals.

It's just a shame that after this film, the company seems to be derailing, if I'm not mistaken; apart from Pixar's "Coco" next month and a live-action "Wrinkle in Time" (a story that to my knowledge has never been told by Disney before) next year, much of their current "slate" is littered with "remakes", a couple sequels, and they even very recently finally called the shots against "Gigantic" (the only non-sequel animated film they had in their main house). A shame really. But... a downfall of originality at this rate looks like it'll at least serve as mild karma for the studio and bring their current new age "revival" era to an end pretty soon with the release of the LARGELY unnecessary "Frozen 2" in 2019. (Hey, is it by any coincidence that the "Renaissance" era the company had way back when also:

a) Started with a John Musker/Ron Clements-directed film released in a year ending with a "9" ["Little Mermaid" in 1989 and "Princess and the Frog" in 2009, respectively] and

b) Ended with a Chris Buck-directed film EXACTLY a decade later, in a year also ending in a "9" ["Tarzan" in 1999 and Hack! "Frozen 2" in 2019, most likely at this rate].)

*Sigh* Anyways, again, it's good to discover IMDb's message boards were relocated here so they didn't, in fact, die in February.
