The verdict of an old fan (not that old though, 23 isn't prehistoric)

Alright fresh off watching the feature and overall I'm pleased.

Let me start off by saying much like the current run of Scooby and Tom and Jerry movies if you've got your idea fixed on only the original I'd wager you'd find yourself disappointed in the new projects. This one pulls on different parts from different eras of Flintstone past. If you've gone along with the series, I'd bet you'd get more out of it.

There's the usual heart of best buddy friendship and hairbrained schemes that define so much of the Flintstone's plots
There's some more mature elements to the writing reminiscent of the first two seasons of the original series
Speaking of that Barney's voice actor indeed goes for that early season 1 nasal voice Mel Blanc did away with after his car accident, but he nails the Barney laugh
There's also some more silly toon physics stuff more reminiscent of later saturday morning incarnations
Dino, Hoppy and Babypuss get some screen time, which is cool
The continued gag of new technology being Flintstonized is continued like they did the in the 90s tv films
Similar to the Scooby part, the guest star's world collies with Flintstones world, (i know some have a problem with this)

So in final verdict, if you like how WB continues Scooby and T&J I would recommend giving this one a shot too. There's some room for improvement if this start's a new series of dtv features. But I'd imagine this isn't really going to win over too many new fans but for this old school fan I think it did enough to make me happy.

Exactly! It was like a nostalgic blast from the past with the low-key storytelling. You could almost see this as one of those "Hanna-Barbera" specials on VHS from the early 90s that Cartoon Network would play back in the day.
