He has slapped me a million times

Really, Meredith? You're shocked that Ledger slapped Amzie when you say he has slapped you a million times. Pretty sure it's her job to teach him that's unacceptable behavior so he doesn't do it to other kids. She's an idiot.

Oh oops, Miranda Meredith always get the names confused

Totally agree! I worked in a preschool, and it was unacceptable in my class for a boy to hit a girl. And I worked with 2-4 year olds. YES, children hit. But its your job as a mother to tell them that its unacceptable, and put them in time out for 2 minutes (per his age). Yes, its super embarrassing, and yes, I think Amzie should have been picked up and taken away from the chips (though I don't think its fair for one kid to be eating and not the others, whether she brought snacks for everyone or left the room for a couple minutes. Kids don't respond well when their friends have something tasty and they dont), but it was her job to punish him. So he DOESNT do it again! If you don't enforce "use of words" (and EVERY 2 year old knows "no!"), then they will resort to violence.

Not that I condone one child hitting another, but to Miranda's defense, she went to get MORE snacks for the others kid (because she said the other moms didn't bring any or much).

And when Emily was telling her husband about it, I think she was over-exaggerating a bit. She made it seem like Ledger was the only one "at fault" (for lack of a better term, so don't jump down my throat!); Amzie kept going after the chips (hence the reason for Miranda leaving the room - to get more) and she wouldn't leave Ledger alone. Emily should've pulled her away (so as not to aggravate Ledger, who is known to have tantrums) and told her that more chips were coming - or she could have simply brought her OWN.

I just felt bad for Miranda because she's got enough stress dealing with Ledger without Emily getting on her back as well. Everyone's getting on Miranda about Ledger, but Emily was just SITTING there while her daughter was trying to take another child's food! Ledger hitting her was wrong, but shouldn't Amzie know that it's not ok to take something that isn't hers? It was clear that Ledger didn't want to share, as 2-yr-olds are prone to do.

There really wasn't anyone who was "right" in this case: Miranda should've been teaching Ledger it's wrong to hit, but Emily also should've been teaching Amzie not to take things that aren't hers. But of course, it'll ALL be Miranda's fault! SMH

Really? REALLY? It's Emily's fault that Miranda's child is a little sh!t? Cause he is. And if there is one bag of chips, and going to get more, if I were Miranda I would've given Amzie and few from Ledger's bag. It's called sharing and it's something that has to be taught.

And obviously Miranda's comment of "no other moms brought snacks" was an out-and-out lie, seeing as we SAW Nicole planning out what snacks to take for ALL the kids.

I hope it was unacceptable for a girl to hit a boy, also.

(BTW I completely agree with your post. That just sort of stuck out lol.)

Emily did call Amzie to come back and that she would get her some chips later. Yeah she didn't grab her away but she's not a helicopter mom and doesn't need to do that. She didn't expect Ledger to hit. He hasn't hit before. I know she's only two, but Emily let's her make her choices which I think builds a great foundation for independence, trusting yourself and self-confidence in decision making skills as you grow older. I've seen plenty of insecure adults whose mama told them what to do and how to do it their whole lives. Emily tells her what she thinks is right and let's her do her thing with good or bad consequences. I don't agree with the hitting but Amzie probably learned not to try and grab chips from ledger again.

- Amzie's TWO; if she didn't listen to Emily the FIRST time she told her not to take the chips, then I hardly think Amzie is capable (at TWO) of making the right or wrong choice. A two-yr-old will go after what they want, regardless of their mother telling them NO. After the first time, Emily should've gotten up off her bony butt and pulled Amzie away until Miranda got more chips. And I don't recall Emily or Nicole bringing their own snacks, either, BTW.

Emily tells her what she thinks is right and let's her do her thing with good or bad consequences.

- Once again, Amzie is TWO. She's still learning about actions/consequences. So, if Emily told Amzie not to cross the street without her, she'd just LET her go and see what happens??? Just to let Amzie learn how independent she can be? She's TWO, not TWENTY!

Being a parent of an almost-2-yr-old myself, I know how much of a handful they can be. I don't just tell my son "Don't do that" and leave it up to fate to determine what happens. I have to keep after him all the time...because he's TWO. Unfortunately, Amzie learned the hard way not to try to take things that aren't hers :S YES, Ledger COULD have shared, but he didn't. I don't see anyone commending Miranda for teaching him to "defend himself" (regardless of his gender)!

Like I said, I don't condone hitting, but Emily is Amzie's mother. The least she can do is PRETEND to be a parent. Or is it because it was MIRANDA's son that Emily just let Amzie go after his chips? Anyway, earlier in the season, Emily stated that Amzie was with her nanny pretty much ALL THE TIME. So maybe, Emily doesn't really know HOW to deal with Amzie's "independence" and strong will ?

I have a feeling Miranda (I get their names mixed up, also) is not very consistent with disciplining Ledger. Ledger is almost two (or at least was at the time of the filming), so he should be disciplined each and every time he slaps Miranda (or anyone else).

A two year old will not learn that something is not okay or is wrong if he/she is not taught. They don't call it the "terrible twos" for nothing lol. If she doesn't start disciplining him now, then he has a good chance of continuing the behavior when he begins pre-school or kindergarten.
