Fake Reviews and Ratings?

All 3 reviews currently present, and all 3 ratings appear to be fakes; they have been posted by a producer of the film (erstwhile Pornographer & current Football Club owner David Sullivan) or his employees - all 3 emanate from his office. One reviewer, alias "Debra Dods" has a username davidsullivansoffice and is responsible also for the "review" posted by alias "Dee Broughton", and the review from alias "Jeff Sull" was posted by a shill with the username davesullivan-01061.
The upshot is, if you really want a genuine review and rating for this movie, none exist here at this time.

This isn't something new or unusual, it happens with so many movies that it's almost normal and hardly worthy of an article in the guardian.

Now that the movie is out the real reviews and ratings will even things out, just as happens with almost every other movie.

It's been out for over four months and that was when the fakes were up.

So for four months that's 100% fake reviews. It may not be unusual, but perhaps a lot more significant than suggested.

@Monsieur_Rioux... I totally agree with you! People that do this are seriously very insecure about the product they've made. If you weren't, you'd be happy to let the public decide whether it's good or not so good. How stupid they are to seriously believe we're not on to them!

It makes me NOT want to watch their movie regardless of how good it might actually be, purely because they're bullsh!tters!

Make a film and have the balls to let the public decide if it's good or not. Simple as that! IMO!!

I know IMDb lists it as having came out on DVD in the UK in May but that's wrong. Sites like Amazon have it listed as 31st August release date and the first copies only hit the net in the past 24hrs. It's only now that legit reviews will start being posted.

No attention is worse than bad attention, so I wouldn't be surprised if not only did Sullivan have the fakes written, but led the press wolves to the door.

This won't be the first sham review series in the history of film, and there's a David vs Goliath sympathy I feel for this movie's unfortunate timing.

It is pathetic. But people try. It's like App reviews. If their are 50 or less and the score is 4-5. It is just the developer and friends. It doesn't fool anyone but the world is made of fools who think it does

this is why you have to wait for many 10s of thousands of ratings and hundreds of reviews to trust any of it. in many cases ppl only come on to give movies good ratings when they are new and they are overrated until time fixes it. then u have TV series' which almost always only ever have ppl who like it come on and bother to vote.

That's a good point, one that had not occurred to me previously. I wouldn't bother rating a TV series that I didn't like - or indeed, even watch enough of it to justify a rating. So of course, it would for the most part be fans rating such series, just as you say.

Those who think least and most of something is usually most inclined to express their opinion. But, this is a movie forum and you will not have the usual suspects (excluding the younger generations that have an increased activity) but people who want to inform each other about what is good and what is bad.
