What Would You Do?

What would you do in the couple's situation?
1. What would you do when you're lost in the woods. How would you try to survive?
2. What would you do when bear follows you, but you don't see it yet.
3. What would you do when you stand in front of a bear?
4. What would you do when it attacks you?

reply

1. I would probably do the exact thing the girl did except when she wasted the flare. She should have used the flare when the helicopter passed by.

2.Hide maybe, the bear could probably smell your whereabouts. Whatever I would do I wouldnt run.

3.Use bear spray and blow that whistle.

4. Play dead until the bear leaves.

reply

Id shoot the bear with my 45/70 Marlin rifle. I always take it camping and hiking. Only an idiot goes in to woods unarmed. Tony

reply

Playing dead when a bear is stalking you for food will not do a thing except make you an easier meal.

reply

Running away isn't good either. They run 25mph, so you're pretty much screwed unless you have a very powerful gun but even some bullets can't immediately stop a bear.

reply

I honestly wouldn't have the balls to play dead.
If It started to attack like that bear, it probably wants you as a meal.
Only thing I think you could do is try and outrun it, or maybe guage the eyes or something, if you cant find a large object

reply

I know I'm gonna be 'that guy', but here it goes.
First off, I would never go that deep into the woods without a compass, a map/gps, a gun and bear spray. I would also have some type of bladed tool (which the guy did have).
But obviously if they would have had at least one of the other things I mentioned, there probably wouldn't have been much of a movie 
But assuming I'm in the exact same scenario the characters were in...
1.I think the best thing they could have done was use the position of the sun as a compass, then they could have roughly navigated back to their canoe.
2.Get the bear spray and the hatchet at the ready, and as you walk, constantly make loud noises to scare the bear.
3.More loud noises, and try to look like a formidable opponent. If it was too close then I'd probably use the spray.
4.Spray it and gtfo of there.

reply

I would go high in a tree and hope that some hikers come by.

reply

Lost, I don't know, try to recognize landmarks and trees. I would have looked for a baseball bat sized tree branch and swing away at the bear. If the bear got close enough and I had that flare, try my best to burn it in the body or mouth with the flare.

reply

Kill the bear, eat its heart then war cry from the ledge of that mountain top! After that there is not point in returning to civilization, I have become one with nature!

reply

1. Keep searching for the boat, and eat whatever is edible. If you go that far into the woods, you'd better be prepared.
2. Pay attention to your surroundings. The tracks were there, so watch like a hawk and sleep in a tree, not a tent.
3. Don't stand in front of a bear. If you do, you best have more than 1 lousy can of bear spray.
4. As angry and hungry as that bear was, probably die.

reply

Climb a tree and hope there's no hornet nest.

What Would You Do?

What would you do in the couple's situation?
1. What would you do when you're lost in the woods. How would you try to survive? Yes follow the sun and God hope I eat the right berries. Oh, clean off any dried blood off of me.
2. What would you do when bear follows you, but you don't see it yet. Once I do see it make the loudest sound possible, make myself look big and hope for the best.
3. What would you do when you stand in front of a bear? See step 2.
4. What would you do when it attacks you? Fight punch poke scream and don't play dead.

reply

1. Try to find human vestiges, a trail, and/or follow the sun. It's ABC for survival and everybody knows you should follow the sun.
2. If I do see bear tracks but am not in direct contact with one, GTFO there.
3. Try to avoid it by running between trees, going between openings the bear can't pass through.
4. Try to poke his eyes while regretting my wrong doings and praying.

reply

There aren't any bears at Starbucks or Krispy Kreme, so I'm *beep* nature.
