Still can't get over Elf's new face

I LOVE this show! I was so happy when they announced series 2. It has not disappointed, it's just as (if not more) funny, naughty and clever. But every time I see Elf's new face it distracts me. They explained the change amusingly enough to forgive the change, but I don't think they needed to do it. I bought series 1 on dvd and intend to do the same for this one. I just hope they give a credible explanation in the commentary.

Just finished Season 2 and yeah, Elf's new face was rather distracting. Also, seemed like Mat was voicing the character slightly differently (not sure why)?

I don't remember them giving an 'in universe' explanation of why he looked different. Would love to hear the 'behind the scenes' version though. Did something happen to the old puppet or did they want it changed for some reason? I think it looks less like Mat now, perhaps that was on purpose?

We're not playing Yellow Car.--Martin
You're always playing Yellow Car.--Arthur

Elf has always been a bit of a hustler, and he's definitely taking advantage of the perks of being the right-hand man of Yonderland's biggest celebrity. I imagine he talked the Council of Elders into paying for him to get some work done so he can look his best as he accompanies Debbie on her adventures, and clearly he's gone for the full Joan Rivers. He's had his teeth done, a facelift (note the little strands of hair along his ears to hide the scars), nose job, eye-widening, collagen lip injections, and cheek implants for sure. I'm guessing he's also got a stylist, makeup artist and personal trainer on call. Negatus is far from being the biggest fashion victim in Yonderland.
