These kids were really good skateboarders but thrown in this whole documentary is the fact that they the were good for a few years and couldn't stay Pros!! Wound up winning a few grand and becoming drug addicts A common story and not terrible but nothing that really takes off. Worth a watch I guess.

That's what makes the doc interesting. The fact that they had it all at their finger tips and just threw it away. If you can't grasp that, then you're a tool!

A common story

I do agree with you: It's actually more common in sports to hear about some up-and-comer who is hyped as the next prodigy, maybe has some good performances, and then disappears.

Hearing a story about a person who went from nothing, got to the top, and was able to stay there for an extended period, seems more rare in sports.
