That was my favourite part. If that was true then Hawk sounded like a bit of a sooky dick.
Reminded me of when my band was supporting another band that we knew and thought they were pretty good. After the gig the drummer came up to me and said " You guys were good" I was like thanks..Then he goes " We totally out-played you guys though..." .. I just laughed it off but he was serious..I really should have given him the Pappas response and told him to *beep* off.
Hawk has denied Tas's version of events but ... I'm inclined to believe Tas on this matter.

I read an interview with Tony Hawk and he claimed that He never went up to Tas and whined that he should have won. So there is no way of knowing who is telling the truth. The documentary seemed to go out of its way to make Tony Hawk look very bad.
"Oh I went there, bought a house, moved in b*tch, and now I'm remodeling the kitchen."
It's easy to believe it. It sounds totally believable the way he delivers the anecdote. But Tas has admitted to mental health issues and insane amounts of drug use. Maybe it happened in some way but the story has morphed over the years. I believe Tas believed it happened the way he remembers it but it doesn't mean Hawk was as much as a douche at it sounds.
