I'm black and the lack of POC didn't bother me. It's not like even today that there aren't colleges that aren't predominantly white. It's totes a reality for some parts of the country.

There were unfortunately much fewer POC in college at the time. I know because my brother was a baseball player in college from 75-79

They made it clear in the film that the basketball and football teams were terrible. There was only 1 black guy in the whole Texas high school in Dazed and Confused and now theres 1 black guy and 1 black girl and 1 Asian guy in this university seems like an improvement to me
