Visitors: reading recommendations

Is anyone here fascinated not just by the experience of Visitors, but also by what it reveals about our relation to reality, and to ourselves?

What's amazing about Reggio's films is the degree to which they're not only artworks, but they function as philosophical "texts."

I'd like to know what fellow lovers of this, and other Reggio's films, would recommend seeing or reading. Perhaps this thread could be a bibliography of sorts?

I'll start:

-- The World as Will and Representation (specifically Book Three in Volume I: aesthetics)
