So I watched about the first 35 min, jumped around a lot in the middle...got the basic idea that this place was driving them nuts for whatever reason...then in the end I saw once she did what she did, everything was "unlocked" ...so being that I jumped around and likely missed the point...what was going on??

The place was possessed somehow but why?
