The young couple that moved in downstairs?

On one of the many trips Morgan made up those steps, he heard, then leaned in to watch, a young husband carry his wife over the threshold.

Why the heck didn't they buy THAT apartment when it went on the market? It would have been more effective if the couple had been ABOVE him, not below him.

I guess I'm feelin' picky because I was disappointed in this film. And my expectations weren't that high to begin with.

It's been a while, but wasn't there a flashback of him seeing himself carrying Diane Keaton?

What we got here is... failure to communicate!



Yes - that was one of the flash backs. But there was a current scene, too, where he hears a newly married? couple in the hall. He looks down to see the guy scoop up the girl and carry her over the threshold.

Probably because the young couple had already bought the apartment. We saw how quickly things happen in real estate. Maybe the couple knew the listing agent and got the apartment as soon as it was listed.

Maybe it wasn't for sale way back when they bought the 5th floor one.
