I'm shocked by the low rating and bad reviews. This is a thoroughly enjoyable movie that doesn't disappoint. It's subtle and sophisticated, with terrific acting by Diane Keaton and Morgan Freeman.

I too proved surprised by the relatively low IMDb rating. To quote myself in another thread:

I thought that they possessed great chemistry—Freeman and Keaton came across very credibly as a couple that had been married for forty years. Their relationship is not going to constitute the typical "sparks fly" romance that usually comes out of Hollywood.

I really enjoyed the film, but it is too 'European' for broad American tastes, I suppose. Nothing really 'happens,' there is no melodrama, and the actors do not 'flirt' and tear off each other's clothes ...

I loved the film. Beautiful story - did not need all the drama and action characteristic of most films today. So few films today focus on mature love or appeal to my demographic (over 55 females). Nice to see a really satisfying film for a change,

Good to see I'm not the only one. They were believable as couples that have been together for long time. They were so natural together. I really enjoyed watching the movie.

It was great seeing Morgan freeman and Disney Keaton together.
