I gave this a chance...
...and I'm glad I did. This was actually a decent spoof.
I'm not a fan of Friedberg & Seltzer, at all. I thought Scary Movie was okay, but I've hated all that I've seen of their other work. That being said I gave this a chance because I'd watched all of the F&F movies again recently when 7 came out and the trailer looked passable.
Usually Friedberg & Seltzer's spoofs are disjointed piles of *beep* that throw as many references at the wall as possible and call it a movie. This one actually stayed pretty focused on one franchise and had a decent, funny plot.
There was still some of the usual Friedberg/Seltzer stupidity (the dance-off, some of the sight gags) but overall this is easily their best work since Scary movie (and may be even better). For the first time that they've actually made a movie with heart and that made you care about the characters.
After seeing this I'm willing to bet that most, if not all, of the hate towards SuperFast is just due to two reasons: 1)people are offended they'd spoof F&F because of Paul Walker's death and 2)people HATE the filmmakers(with damn good reason).
If you're a fan of Fast and Furious or a fan of spoofs and have seen movies in the F&F franchise... WATCH THIS MOVIE. Don't let the other steaming piles of crap that the filmmakers have produced keep you from enjoying this golden nugget amongst their piles of *beep*
TL;DR: F&S toned their stupidity down, and made a passable spoof with heart that gets better as it goes and is a must-see for Furious fans.
