*spoiler please* does he find his son?

No he doesn't find the son, at the end what happened to the boy is still unresolved. THe father has to stop searching and go home to look after the rest of his family.

Its a great film by the way, and I don't think the spoiler will ruin the movie too much, it was apparent the whole way through that the man's search for his son was hopeless. Though of course as a viewer you want to see the miracle ending, and they play on that in some ways.

The film does leave it open ended - that he might find his way back home one day, if he's still alive. It's a very sad story though, one of the themes is 'you don't know what you've got until its gone.'
