Why do the males always get killed?

When this started I already knew one or two males would get killed. Why can't they change the formula? It's getting kinda old!

Women are always seen as the weaker sex physically but not mentally...just reinforcing it with the movies....

One guy and one girl died. Can't get much more fair than that.
