Both of them were terrible actresses.
But no, I don't think they work for the film company, they just have very poor taste in film.
I liked the movie, but I would definitely agree The Shallows was the superior film. Blake Lively was just a far more sympathetic lead than Moore and Holt. Thinking back on it now, it's a bit silly to realize the girls got into the cage because they thought getting pictures of a great white would impress Moore's boyfriend into getting back together with her.

I couldn't disagree more. I thought Mandy's acting was fantastic. You may not had liked the character of Lisa at all, but the acting was definitely not the problem here.

It's actually funny that you mention Shills here, since I was wondering the same thing about "The Shallows". Especially the reviews there. Some of those praising review accounts were very fresh and only reviewed that particular movie.
I can respect that some people find "The Shallows" better, although, for the life of me, I won't understand it. I'm also confused since these two movies have such different premises. It's really like comparing apples with oranges.
If you want to compare "The Shallows", at least compare it with something similar like "The Reef" for example.
Perhaps that's what I enjoyed so much about this movie; the original storyline.
As for the acting in this movie.. seemed solid enough to me. I wasn't annoyed by their voices either, perhaps that helped.

this movie stunk compared to the shallows. completely unrealistic. bad music. bad actors. stupid twist ending. everything bad in todays movies they threw in here.
shareThe biggest problem was the writing. The first act should have been used to establish some sympathy with the characters so that we care what happens to them later. Showing your heroines as spoilt rich girls going to a rave, picking up Mexicans and frolicking in the surf does not establish sympathy. The young male characters were so underwritten they were completely interchangeable. Even Modine, the only decent actor in this, was given squat to work with.
How can you be a troll for liking a movie more than the other? Starting a sentence with LOL and calling someone a troll puts you in the age bracket of in your daddy's nut sack to being able to count the pubes on your balls. Grow up you little punk.

sharetotally agreed , Mandy was just aweful and her co star was not much better , i can see why see is stuck on a CW Show. Mandy if this is the best you can do , please stop acting and save all of us from your insuffable whining annoying voice , no wonder your music career is dead , another failed musican thinking she can act , i blame the director more tho for hiring her ,it's not like she is even a C list celeb these days
