why were they repeatedly told to not surface

on their own, when they both know how to scuba dive? what'd be the difference between them going to the surface on their own vs. having the cage lifted, in terms of managing the pressure in their lungs/chest.

reply

Actually only one of them knew how to scuba dive. The other was totally new to the experience.

No, you're not wrong, you're just an a$$hole!

reply

i thought they both answered affirmative when the old man asked if they could scuba dive. still, they had to re-surface one way or another. what's the difference if it's with or without the cage.

reply

err.. the sharks?

No, you're not wrong, you're just an a$$hole!

reply

Did you just forget about the sharks, or something? lol

reply

Lisa was clearly lying lol...She didn't know what she was doing. The guy had to tell her where everything was on her suit before they even got out of the boat.

reply

But the dipshiat guy still let the whiny chick get in the cage without supervision anyway. The girls were plan stupid anyway, for getting in a rusty cage in Mexico(0 regulations)

reply

Well the main answer would be the pack of man eating sharks swimming around...

Also, it is repeatedly pushed that Lisa does not know how to scuba dive. From her flat out saying it early in the movie, to the guide having to explain her gear to her.
