Antonia is a joke
The Nov. 29 episode saw the chefs making "a barbecue bacon cheeseBURGER." (My emphasis) They tell us that one of the 3 things they look for in judging is that the product "better remind them of _______."
One chef totally forgot meat. He used a mushroom as his "burger." He had bacon so he couldn't go with the ol' "vegetarian" version of the dish, like others have done.
Antonia let this chef continue to the final round, sending home someone else because they didn't have enough barbecue flavor.
How in the world can something with no meat remind her of any kind of "burger?" If I order a "burger" in a restaurant and they serve me something without any meat, or other ingredient that tastes like meat, there's no way I'm paying for it.
There is no doubt that she must have figured this person got sabotaged and lost his meat, so he got to skate even though he clearly didn't serve at all what he was supposed to. The judges here are supposed to not care about the sabotages and judge on what they are served. Antonia violated the rules for judges, not knowing that the guy wasn't sabotaged at all; that he simply forgot to get any kind of meat for his burger. She sent the wrong guy home.
Then, in the final round, she continued to show what a joke she is. From her comments, it seemed there was no doubt she considered Dish A to be superior to B, but she inexplicably gave the decision to the chef who cooked Dish B. With the other judges, the negatives they point out give a strong indication of which dish will be eliminated, OR the comments are even and the decision is almost a flip of the coin. Here, the negatives she expressed were much harsher for the contestant she then proclaimed to be the winner.
I think next time I learn she is the judge, I"ll just switch off. Her judging leaves much to be desired.
