The movie became obessed and over sexualized with the latter half of the film, with the homosexual and bisexual themes. I think it harpooned onto it and did not explore the earlier themes of the film and the challenges of the main character. Was hoping better from the star but ended terribly.
shareBtw, the comment in extras dvd by the director in the piece about the Police protest, and she says " Trayvon Martin was killed by the police" is factually incorrect. He in fact was shot by a civilian, George Zimmerman. He is not a police officer. So her basing her opinions on this matter and including it in the film and extras stands on faulty ground.
I also I found a bit odd was her comment about being "alienated filming in New York." Simply because they allegedly received a anonymous negatice email about the production. That seems a bit unfair especially considering that hundreds of films from production teams around the world film in New York every year, without any such issue nor complaint.
