The hitchhikers...another theory *spoilers*

I rented this knowing it would be a slow-burn movie so I didn't mind waiting for the last 30 minutes to have something happen. Anyway, we all do find out that Veronique is the serial killer on the roads there in that part of France which I was suspect of either her or Jack and that she has multiple personalities and the parents have covered up her killing sprees along with trying to lock her in the house there but I have another theory to go along with the twist.

Jack I think is another road killer or serial killer because it is puzzling to see him without any bags or items except for a passport. The mother does look at the passport. How's this for a twist? They are both hitchhiking serial killers with multiple personalities. Maybe the parents of Véronique think all of the killings are her own doing but actually Jack has been doing them as well from the England side and got stuck in France? He changes us his story a bit on why he has no luggage and the girlfriend, ex-girlfriend story plus about his own parents, etc. Another thing, remember she was talking about her brother when she said her parents were dead. Notice the big field with hay bales when the parents are chasing Jack and Veronique in the car? The barn and farm tractors, etc.

Some of the movie did try to supply some unintentional comic relief like the friend trying to be "scary" and then he said he was tired of it.
